Soto ALG Learning & Activity Center Opens in Wilkes County
Day Service Director Aliana Schuyler cuts the ribbon on the new Soto ALG Learning and Activity Center on September 7th (left). “This is a day service center for individuals with developmental disabilities providing community access, pre-vocational, and supported employment services,” President Allan Soto said. “This provides a huge service to our community...to people in Wilkes and the surrounding counties without access to the services they need.” Located at 275A Thomson Rd next to the State Farm office, the center is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Soto ALG Learning and Activity Center also provides transportation to and from the center for the participants it serves. We put an emphasis on becoming part of the community as opposed to staying sheltered," Soto said, “so our participants are working at Ruffin Flag Company and other businesses, and we’re exploring other opportunities.”
